Maybe you should trade Ashton and Franson for a top end goalie

Maybe you should give up the guy with 10 years left on his deal for next to nothing.

I wonder how much $$$ he wants? He only got 21 points last year in an OK season...2 Mil per year sounds about right

With or without Franson there is some uncertainty on the Leafs blueline.

How is that possible when they have a 2014 Canadian Olympian patrolling the Blue Line

Just curious, how much is Franson worth to a Leafs fan?

We need Franson, I don't get what is so hard with saying "Yes, you will have ice time this year." It's all he wants to hear. Make him the #6 guy as long as he's not benched for 38 games like last year, what a waste. No Idea why Schenn and Komi had more ice than him, he was much less of a defensive liability.

He played liek 50 games last year because Wilson never played him and still got 21pts. Good for 3rd for defence on the team (I think) Imagine a full season would have been 30 something pts not to mention he was given little ice time when he did play.

In all honesty hes not worth much until he has a full season or two under his belt. What he is worth is a new contract and a real shot to show his worth.

Maybe if he was traded to the Flyers he could become another Coburn...

Unsigned Franson for.....Holmstrom and a 5th?

All jokes aside, Gardiner and Reilly are some solid kids to build a blue line around.

Unless he's going in a deal for a C or a first string tender then I hold onto him. He doesn't like it? Tough....we have control for two more years.

Go ahead and sit for two years if you want - we'll just suspend him and hold onto his rights.

I do see it from his side though - having a defined role is great. But in the real world we all don't have defined roles and Randy will play the guys who should be playing at that time.

It's hard with Fransen because he can look amazing one second and then completely flat footed the next. He's a piece we can utilize in a package and someone will find him an attractive commodity.

Look at the games played...he did pretty well considering. If you're Detroit or Philly no question you'd rather have Fransen in the line up then Carlo "Glass Man" Colaiacovo...it's just the cost to attain and the willingness of Toronto to deal him.

I doubt it.

Franson is probably worth more to hold onto until someone honestly needs a defenseman. Until then promise him a spot on the roster and a opportunity to play (a bigger role) more minutes. If he doesn't match up against the guys we already have than tough nuts bud, try harder!
